How to Reconnect with Your Soul Each Morning: A Gentle Energy Reset Practice
The Need for Daily Soul Reconnection
Last night, as so often happens, I was woken by noise. These disturbances, though seemingly small, trigger my sympathetic nervous system (SNS), also known as the fight-or-flight response.
So, this morning as I sat down to start my spiritual practice, I became aware my mind was caught up in fear. A particular topic had hooked my attention, and my ego was making it feel urgent and real. I was operating from a “3D state of mind,” stuck in survival mode, as my SNS was still activated. My mood dipped. My body felt tight.
Thankfully, I recognised what was happening as I’ve experienced this many times on my spiritual path and I knew what I needed was to restore conscious connection to my soul.
The Remedy: Plug In & Switch On
To me, soul connection is like electricity, the current is always flowing, the source is always present, but we still have to “plug in” and “switch on” to access it.
And after a disturbed night like this, it’s as if the ego had pulled the plug right out of the socket.
How I Reconnect: My Morning “Energy Shower”
There are many ways to re-establish conscious connection to your soul. I use a simple but powerful morning practice to reconnect, especially when ego fear is making its presence strongly felt.
Alongside my usual chakra balancing and intuitive connection rituals, I also do an “energy shower.” I was told about this idea from a spiritual mentor, and it’s become an important part of my morning reconnection.
Here’s how I do it:
- I close my eyes and imagine all the heavy or fearful thoughts as grey liquid, flowing down from my mind, through my body, and out through my feet, dispersing into the Earth.
- Then, I visualise golden light pouring in through the top of my head, through my crown chakra, filling every cell of my body. I visualise it flowing through me, filling all my cells in my body with radiant light.
- I stay with the visualisation until I feel a clear shift, when my ego’s voice feels distant, and I feel I’m back, grounded in my body, and I feel like my authentic self again.
Why It Helps
After this practice, I feel uplifted, stronger, and temporarily free from the patterns of my ego. I feel more aligned, and better able to respond, rather than react, to the challenges in my life.
Try It for Yourself
If fear, stress, or overthinking has taken hold lately, I invite you to try your own version of the “energy shower.”
Just take a few quiet minutes, breathe deeply, and plug back in.
You may be surprised by what shifts.
And remember: Your soul is always there.
All you have to do… is reconnect.
If this resonated, know that more reflections like this are on the way. I’m sharing what has helped me, in case it helps you too.
Thank you for reading.
