Beyond Burnout. Live True to You.

When exhaustion is a sign that something deeper needs your attention

You’re a responsible, conscientious woman who expects a lot from yourself. You’ve kept going for a long time, but now you find yourself constantly depleted.

I help you understand why burnout happened, get your spark back, and discover a way of working and living that feels true to you.

A brief self-assessment to help you understand your current level of burnout and what you can do next.

Perhaps you recognise this

If any of this feels familiar, you are in the right place.

Work-related burnout can affect more than just your working life. If you recognise yourself in several of these, it may be time to look more closely at what’s happening.

  • You feel overwhelmed by everything you're carrying

You keep going because you have to, but the demands of everyday life can start to feel like too much.

  • You're not functioning at your best anymore

You care deeply about doing things well, but you may find it harder to focus, think clearly or feel as capable as you once did.

  • Your work no longer feels as meaningful as it once did

The work itself may not have changed, but you no longer feel the same sense of purpose, fulfilment or connection to your values.

  • You feel like too much responsibility rests on your shoulders

You're the one who keeps things moving, solves problems and supports others, but it can feel as though there is little support for you.

  • Rest doesn't seem to restore you like it used to

Even when you take a break, you don't feel fully replenished before life asks you to keep going again.

  • You know something needs to change, but you're not sure what

You sense you can't continue in the same way, but finding the right next step feels unclear.

Burnout is often more than just exhaustion and not simply a problem to push through or overcome. It can be a sign that something deeper needs your attention.

Dr. Catherine Buchan, founder of Heart & Soul Awakening

About

Like the women I work with, I’ve experienced burnout myself.

I’m Dr Catherine Buchan, and I know what it feels like to keep going, to carry so much responsibility and to push through, until your body and mind can no longer sustain it. I experienced burnout twice, in two different careers, and those experiences helped form the way I understand burnout and recovery.

I have a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and extensive experience working with clients, including delivering spiritual counselling, psychological coaching, and providing therapy in the NHS. I bring together psychological understanding, intuitive guidance and spiritual wisdom, alongside more than 25 years on my own spiritual path, to support women in moving beyond burnout and discovering a life that feels true to who they are.

What women I’ve worked with say

Working with Catherine has given me a deep sense of peace and clarity. I've learned to step out of negativity and focus on the positive, but more importantly, I've realized that all the tools and strength I need are already within me—I just needed guidance on how to access and trust them. Through our work together, I've developed more self-compassion, which has also deepened my compassion for others. I'm so grateful for this journey and highly recommend Catherine to anyone seeking inner growth and transformation.

Each session was carefully tailored to my evolving journey, offering fresh wisdom and practical tools exactly when I needed them. Catherine's dedication and intuition shine through in everything she does. I feel truly grateful for her wisdom, care, and ability to create a space for deep personal growth.
